The Berkeley opens its rooftop to all with a new cocktail bar

The Berkeley is opening its rooftop – usually reserved for staying guests – to all for the rest of the summer, with a new poolside cocktail bar.

The Berkeley Rooftop Bar will open to everyone during the evening, offering the ultimate alfresco destination for Londoners to soak up sweeping sunset views over Belgravia, while sitting by the glistening pool. Unrivalled views of London’s skyline are complemented by a menu of refreshing spritz cocktails and Mediterranean small plates.

Guests will be whisked up to the rooftop by lift, where they can discover a new, sun-bathed mural by artist Chiara Perano along the way, inspired by the blues of the pool and greens of the park. Once outside, the charming crescents of Belgravia and the vast scale of Hyde Park greet you. Guests can book a table or nab a striped lounger – drink in hand – which will be for walk-ins only.

Rosé will be served by the magnum tableside, harking to summer holidays in the South of France, and a hero sangria is mixed with Côte de Provence rosé and Fever-Tree raspberry lemonade, fresh grapefruit juice and seasonal fruit. The cocktail list will be a collection of highballs and Summer spritz’ – the ‘Pool Party’ is a blend of Campari, Chambord, rhubarb, strawberry bitters and Fever-Tree soda water; whilst ‘Hyde Park Spritz’ is a revitalising mix of Ricard Pastis, Cointreau, Benedictine, lemon and sparkling water.  Classics including gin and tonics, craft beers and wines will be served alongside an informal, seasonal menu of Mediterranean small plates – ideal for sharing.  Highlights include seared beef with truffle artichoke pesto and rocket; marinated squid with courgette spaghetti, daikon, sesame, and ginger dressing; a watermelon, cherry tomato and feta salad topped with mint dressing, and a classic Panzanella.

The Berkeley Rooftop Bar will open to all from Tuesday 1 August 2023.  Reservations lines are now open.  Tables must be booked, while loungers will be available for walk-ins only.  The Berkeley Rooftop Bar will open from Tuesday to Saturday, 7.30pm to 11pm, with the last sitting at 9.30pm.
