Many visitors to London often make their way to Buckingham Palace and forget to venture further west beyond Grosvenor Place, which borders the gardens to the rear of the palace. Taking those extra few steps will see London open up into an exclusive and beautifully presented historical quarter called Belgravia. It should be on everyone’s radar and we’re going to tell you why!

A Guide to a Day Trip in Belgravia London

Planning a trip to Belgravia

This small neighbourhood nestled under the wing of Hyde park to the North is one of London's most exclusive zones. Regency-style buildings with squares and crescents displaying some of the best architecture in our capital will greet us at every corner. And as modern-day London blends with its vibrant past, Belgravia comes into its own to show us exactly how it's done.

The area offers bespoke and high-end boutique shopping, world-class cuisine and a plethora of other exciting opportunities. Even ambling without purpose through the streets of Belgravia is an attractive proposition in itself. Many hours can be spent strolling from Hyde Park Corner, through Belgrave Square and down to Ranelagh gardens. On a map, Belgravia appears to be a tiny slice of London's footprint. However, the twists and turns of these streets are paved with history and bear a larger-than-life persona. Day trips to London simply would not be complete without paying a visit.

So, here are some of our favourite things to do while out for a day trip in this opulent area of London that we think you’ll enjoy too.

One of the most unique things to do in Belgravia is to visit the fantastic Pantechnicon venue. Here, we see a mixture of Japanese and Nordic traditions fuse together in the most incredible way.

There is ample opportunity to sample the delights from both countries as well as make purchases and enjoy some hands-on experience. The location houses a studio featuring fashion, homeware and gifts uncovered during travels to these amazing countries. And beyond that, there is a world of culinary delights to feast our eyes on.

Try exclusive sake in the intimate micro bar where tasting is a must and purchases can be made. Paying a visit to Café Kitsuné will further tantalise the taste buds in this setting inspired by Paris with a very Japanese twist. Pastries are prepared daily to enjoy with a coffee.

On other levels, there is the Sachi restaurant as well as Eldr, which are home to exquisite Japanese and Nordic dishes respectively. And we can complete our visit to Pantechnicon by heading up to the roof garden to enjoy a drink in the botanical hideaway.
