Basia Avgoustidis, MA, RCST is a registered Craniosacral Therapist in the UK and a member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association. She was first accredited and started her practice in New York in 2013. Basia continued her studies with the renowned Craniosacral Biodynamics pioneer Franklyn Sills, to deepen the quality of her presence and work. She specialises in trauma resolution (including birth trauma), depression, anxiety, C-PTSD, PTSD, long Covid, spiritual emergency and chronic health conditions.

Tell us a little about the specialist treatments/ classes you offer, and if they’re in person or online, or both?

I offer Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy in person, and Quantum Biodynamics online. These two therapies work well together and most people prefer a combination of both depending on lockdowns and quarantine. Both types of therapy are extremely gentle and respect the pace of each client and their needs.

What does the client gain from each session? (i.e what can they expect the results to be in six months?)

Clients come to me feeling stuck and suffering with the long term effects of physical or emotional  trauma, and nervous system disorders. This can be C-PTSD, PTSD, chronic pain and fatigue, migraines, depression, anxiety. After a few sessions, clients find that their nervous system starts to downregulate, their quality of sleep improves and they have less stress and pain. With more resourcing through the sessions, there is less overwhelm and clients feel it is easier to tackle what life may bring. There is more ease in their being and an innate sense of restfulness.

How and where did you train/ get your experience?

I have trained in New York with Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy pioneer, Franklyn Sills. I have been practising since 2013 and working mostly with trauma, ongoing stress, and chronic conditions.

What is it about the treatments that you offer that you believe makes them stand out?

I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for my sessions. My clients feel comfortable enough to share difficult experiences that have shaped their life, but they do not have to. They can feel the subtle but powerful impact of the treatments even if they do not want to speak of their experience; and that is what makes my work stand out. They can find relief from recurring patterns and the effects of trauma without having to revisit painful experiences. They can find that their body releases trauma during our sessions and life may feel a little easier. Craniosacral Therapy can go as far as our birth experience which is quite formative, and help us release the earliest trauma that we cannot remember or speak of.

I feel quite honoured and humbled to be part of someone’s healing journey.

What do you love about working with the Light Centre?

I love the peace and quiet on Sunday afternoons. I very much appreciate their exceptionally good ventilation system. I feel safer knowing that fresh air is pumped in continuously. I have also noticed that the Light Centre and its staff is very good with communicating.
