Creative Hand-Building Workshop

The hand-building workshop offers the beginning techniques of pinching, coiling and slab-building for functional wear or small sculptural work, along with a range of surface decoration and texture methods taught by the Royal College of Art graduates. Guests are welcomed to come with their own ideas or simply to follow along and let their creativity grow during the mindful 3 hours of making.

The hand-building workshop is suitable for both complete beginners and those interested in improving their existing ceramic knowledge. All equipment and firing will be provided.

Kurinuki Workshop

‘Kurinuki’, the ancient art of carving objects from blocks of clay, is now one of the rarest practised ceramic techniques. An incredibly therapeutic technique that offers a mindful making experience, each piece created using Kurinuki is unique to the maker.

Offering a unique making experience, this workshop will encourage self expression in a calming, learning atmosphere. The team will guide you through the making of a tea bowl, from start to finish, with expert tips and techniques from Royal College of Art graduates.
