This January and February celebrate ‘the art of the broken’ with Studio Pottery London’s Kintsugi workshops…

Join Studio Pottery London as they highlight and celebrate the centuries-old Japanese repair technique, kintsugi, with inspiring workshops. The art of kintsugi uses Japanese lacquer dusted with powdered precious metals to restore broken ceramic items. The craft is underpinned by a philosophy of finding beauty in the flawed or imperfect. Rather than masking fractures, kintsugi highlights them to tell an object’s story.

Throughout January and February, Studio Pottery London will be home to a special exhibition of kintsugi ceramics, as well as host dedicated workshops led by expert Nishikawa Iku, founder of Kintsugi Oxford. During the two and a half hour workshop, guests will be introduced to the principles and techniques of kintsugi, and will create their own finished piece of kintsugi.

Studio Pottery London’s kintsugi workshops are taking place on Sunday 29th January and Saturday 25th February, tickets are priced from £130 each. For more information and to book your space click here.
