Belgravia’s most exclusive private dining club, Mosimann’s was established over 30 years ago.

A family-run business set up by Swiss chef Anton Mosimann OBE, Mosimann’s is situated on Belgravia’s West Halkin Street. The team also offer a private catering service and a renowned cookery school, where the founder’s ethos of blending both ‘good food’ and ‘food that is good for you’ using the freshest ingredients and preparing them in a way that brings out their flavour and goodness remains strong. Here, we talk to Head Chef Adrian Brunner about the inspiration behind the dishes, his personal favourites and his go-to autumn dishes.

What inspired you to become a chef and how did you get where you are today?

“Growing up in Switzerland, I was always helping my mother in the kitchen with cooking, and everything which comes with it. It was she who suggested that I look at positions in the culinary industry when it was time for me to choose what I wanted to do with my life after school.”

Tell us about your favourite aspect of working in your restaurant…

“Working in a team and the rush we get during a busy service. Other people do extreme sport to get an adrenaline rush, but for me that comes for free with my job!”

What’s your go-to dish to make at home in the autumn?

“Spaetzli with braised red cabbage and venison or beef. It’s a traditional Swiss dish which you can only find at this time of year.”

Where’s your favourite place to go in Belgravia (not including your own restaurant!)?

“The Fine Cheese Company – not only are we working closely together with them to find the best cheese for our dessert menu, I also enjoy sitting in their cafe with a nice tea and some lovely cheese.”

What’s the most memorable meal you’ve ever had?

“That would have to be my birthday dinner for my 30th, at the Michelin-starred Restaurant Zur Geduld in Burgdorf, Switzerland. The Head Chef (my former colleague) created a stunning seven course meal for me and my family.”
