The Pimlico Road Series
The Pimlico Road Series for London Craft Week showcases the design district as home to many of the world’s most renowned design brands, with inspiring talks and panels, interactive workshops and fascinating demonstrations with the makers themselves. This year London Craft Week is in association with The World of Interiors and will be hosting their lates event on the 10th May. Visitors will be able to enjoy wine courtesy of Highweald Wine.
Edward Bulmer Natural Paint
Discover a new range of fabrics for an inspired natural scheme at the Edward Bulmer Showroom. You are invited to the London showroom for an introduction to a new collection of plant based dyed fabrics inspired by the Edward Bulmer colours. The five new fabric colours will give designers and homeowners a workable natural palette so they can match or complement cloth to walls in tonal harmony and in harmony with nature. 194 Ebury Street, London, SW1W 8UP
PINCH X Pemberton Qwilts
PINCH has collaborated with Pemberton Qwilts to produce a quilt that embodies these shared values, which is exhibited in their Ebury Street shop for London Craft Week. 200 Ebury Street, London, SW1W 8UN
Taken from the cricketing term ‘drift’ and inspired by the dancing forms of driftwood as it glides through the water, Ochre’s Drifter Lights are hand-carved in oak by traditional British cricket bat makers. 22–24 Pimlico Road, SW1W 8LJ
Robertaebasta London is excited to host prolific artist and designer Cleto Munari for a talk with their general director Mattia Martinelli. A talk by Cleto is followed by a drinks reception and a private view of some of Cleto’s most iconic jewellery pieces. 85 Pimlico Road, SW1W 8PH
Chelsea Textiles showcases the skills of their master craftspeople with daily demonstrations of hand-carving and paint effects, featuring furniture from their Gustavian and Faux Bamboo collections. Sandra Davolio is an acclaimed contemporary Danish-Italian ceramic artist who has been represented by Modernity for more than 10 years. Taking inspiration from nature and ancient Etruscan culture, Sandra’s delicate and breathtaking vessels are in the spotlight at Modernity’s Belgravia gallery during London Craft Week. Zena Holloway at de Le Cuona
Exploring the future of grown materials, craft and art, ‘Rooted’ showcases the synergies between Zena Holloway’s innovative sculptures and wall hangings grown from wheatgrass root and de Le Cuona’s natural textiles woven from flax. This panel discussion examines the different relationships behind building and curating craft collections. Focusing on the collection of Victoria, Lady de Rothschild, the relationships between advisor, dealer, maker and collector are explored with first-hand experience from all sides. Plastic-based foams combined with fire-retardant chemicals are widely used throughout the upholstered furniture industry. Certain levels of these chemicals can be damaging to the environment and human health. Creating innovative sculptures that incorporate light, water and reflections in materials including, bronze, stainless steel and stone, David Harber’s ethos celebrates unpredictability, illusion and the recurring patterns of nature. David will discuss his sculpture set in Eaton Square gardens and explore the process of patinating (Friday) and gilding (Saturday).
